xp doesnt boots up from cd help

im trying to reinstall xp pack 3 on my pc unfortunatly the pc cant find the cd wich i got xp on it.i changed the bios to read from cd ,when it start it says press any key to boots from cd as soon as i press a key it autamtically start my window wich is already instaled wich i want to get rid of it.then i tried to take the xp disk out to see what my pc would do, when i restart my pc it says operation system not found.Of course the bios set to read from cd that why it cant find the operation system, but why as soon i insert cd instead of boots up from cd, it start automaticaly my installed window.
I have got 3 keyboard i tried all of then. for some reason i dont get the green screen.As a new to computers im learning how to install opearation system.
Any idea?

ys it xp profisional pack 2 Multykeys.i have installed it in two other PC no problem.
I have no clue at all what is wrong with this pc.

Maybe CD drive is busted??

try putting a different bootable disk in the drive and see if it boots.....If it doesn't that's a good indication that the drive is bad
