Graphics Card and Internet Card Issues
    « on: June 20, 2009, 01:57:45 PM »
    Well,

Recently I got a new computer, moved it up stairs and bought a internet card for it. Everything was fine and great. Then I decided to buy a graphics card for it. Plugged it in all things are fine. The computer started and displayed but just before the login screen, it freezes.. everytime. But! When I take one card out and leave the other in, it works fine! I want to be able to have both cards in at the same time, anyone able to help?

    -Thanks

Return the NIC card for a replacement...
Also try it in another slot if possible.

because whenever i take one out and put the other in it works fine. and then if i do it the other away around it still works so they clearly both work fine.

It's possible the vid card is overheating with the other card installed next to it...is the fan operating properly ?

indeed the fan is on and working, could it possibly be the power supply?

DLoad install and run SpeedFan and post the results here...
Also post more info on the hardware in this machine...

Microsoft XP pro (5.1, Build 2600)
                Model: Hp D530 SFF(PB135UA)
Intel Premium 4 CPU 3 GHZ
                Graphics Card: GeForce 6200
Internet card is just a simple internet chip.

and this is going to probably sound dumb but what do you mean when you say "DLoad install and run SpeedFan"
