Under tools-->options--security, is the "Remember passwords for sites" box checked?

Download FoxScan from HERE, or HERE
Double click on FoxScan.exe to start the scan.
      DOS-like window will pop-up.
Press 2 for English. Press Enter.
Be patient. It'll take few minutes.
When the tool is done, it'll display:

      Search completed.
      Press any key to coninue...

      Press any key.
Notepad window titled Rapport-FS.txt will open.
Save the file to known location, and attach it to your next reply.

Okay, quite a few add-ons.  Would you mind just trying to start FireFox in safe mode?  (You should have a link in your start menu - otherwise probably something like "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode at a command prompt will do it.)  Are you now able to clear private data?

Just Check out the 2nd one
I did, and Avast warned me about trojan.
Obviously, it's nothing more than false positive, because the program is safe.
I reported the issue to program's maker.

The maker response was rather rapid one.
No more Avast warning on second download.

          Hi Rob! :)

Surprisingly, no option to "Clear Private Data" shows up under Tools Menu of FF Safe Mode!

          Check out the Screenshot!

Excuse me for coming in. :)
I had the same sort of request and thought it might be relevant to mine.

Its not, but there's some handy stuff to learn here too.

            Thank you ImnoGuru.  ;D

"Private browsing"?  You're using the 3.5 Beta, aren't you.  All bets are off!

I can probably imagine what causes all such kinds of 'Weird' instances with my FF! ::)

I have an unpartitioned Hard drive(C: only) & I have installed 3 different flavors of Mozilla Browsers viz. Stable Version 3.0.11, Firefox 3.5 RC3 & Minefield(Shiretoko) on the very same drive!

I have observed that installing all of these on a single partition is very much like existence of 3 different bodies with a 'Single Soul'! ::)

Any change I make(say for instance adding a New Extension) to any one of the above does impacts the other two as well.Very same extension shows up within the other two albeit disabled or else!

Just check out on how I decipher b/w various flavors & which one to choose from:----

There is no way installing an extension in one instance should affect all 3 installs....

              Something's fishy here...
