Is there a way you can use Properties in the Start menu to associate existing programs back to the operating system.

I did this once is XP.  It's almost as tedious as a full reinstall, but it may be an option.

I derailed my own train of thought...I was erroneously thinking of a reinstall of the same operating system...never mind...

Win7 is worth all that work...
Or just buy another laptop HDD and keep both.

Why just buy the hdd, maybe another laptop, I could always just get the Alienware that I've been drooling over.

But then which one do I take to camp, the Qosmio, or the Alienware?

So much money, so few laptops...
