    the man wasn't thinking- it probably froze when he pointed the gun at it.
    I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

        Agreed.  It's rather like when you can tell a person has spelled a word like it sounds, except they don't pronounce it properly, so they don't spell it properly.  It's a soapbox I try to avoid, but I'm really surprised at the misuse between "of" and "have" when coupled with "could".
