No sound after intalling windows

well this computer that i have came with linspire. it was cheap, needed a computer for stuff and after a while i installed windows xp. now i have no sound and i dont know what happened. ive tried trouble shooting and i really dont know what else to do. when i go into  sounds and audio devices it says there isnt any devices. i have speakers plugged in. i just have no i dea what to do.

This is because you dont have the proper sound driver most likely. Post the make/model of the computer or the sound card.

You should be able to get the drivers for free from the manufacturers website.
