Does ram ever get cheaper? (like in online stores)

what's over clocking mean?

and what all is possible to upgrade on a laptop, and what upgrades give you the most performance?

RAM is at it's cheapest levels right now in the last 8 years...

Overclocking is changing the multiplier and or voltages to the CPU for a performance gain.

Best and only upgrades for a laptop is adding more RAM...i would NOT recommend Overclocking a laptop.

Depending on the laptop it can be relatively easy to swap out the hard drive as well. Swapping out a conventional hard drive for a good SSD can make a real difference in startup, load times and general responsiveness. But good SSDs are still very expensive and have some issues of their own.

I wouldn't be recommending SSD HDD's just yet as an upgrade...they have a ways to go still.
