Does your son's computer "see" a wireless network at all?

OK - cool -- it's really the same -- they just get cutesy and put it on a stand...  :)

Now, we have to figure out if it's actually broadcasting a wireless signal.

These are instructions from the site on how to access the Administrator settings of the wireless portion of the router:

Don't worry about security, yet...let's just get the box working, and we can go from there.  We...like I'm doing anything besides stating, "Do this...do that..."

Theoretically, N is better than G..it's the newest wireless standard, and it's supposed to be faster and have longer range.  Articles on the Internet suggest that the N standard isn't fully defined, and though Netgear, Linksys, and Belkin are claiming fabulous results with the new N standard, your mileage may vary.

On the whole, I'd say, yes, it's better -- besides saving what I'm guessing is at least three or four bucks a month which Comcast is cheerfully charging for the router.

I know of no reason the D-Link should not have worked.  I really think someone saw a chance to "pad" your bill by $36 to $48 dollars a year -- perhaps more!

Now, let me go back and check that other router...very nearly sure it is a G router.

Yes, it is a wireless G rated router.

BTW I found my D-link. My hubby put it in the closet  >:(

As soon as we figure out which one is better I'm going to fix it
