    install checklist
    « on: July 16, 2009, 08:03:52 PM »
Ok... bear with me. I'm going to reinstall Windows XP. I have everything I can think of backed up. I'm, of course, going to unplug everything except my keyboard and mouse then do the install. After the install, I will have to set up a network station. My pc is the host, ie, printer, modem, router etc...  is there a checklist or order of things I should do to get running again?

I'm thinking, first install viruscan, enable firewall how I want it, set up a network station, then plug the modem/router back in. This is where I'm a little weary, I'm hoping it will get me back on the web with little if any tweaking(?) you see, I'm the host PC, ie. printer, modem/router etc. are on me... am I just being too paranoid and just go for it?
