    Copying OS harddrive - software
    « on: July 18, 2009, 06:44:03 AM »
    Hi,

I want to upsize my OS hard drive. What is good brand of software to copy everything from the small drive to a larger one?
Think twice or more. Do once after.

The major HDD manuf. all have FREE software to "clone" your old drive to the new one...
    The procedure is simple
Hook up the new drive as slave
DLoad the software from the manuf. site and create a bootable cd.
Boot to the CD and select the Clone operation.
Let it run completely...this is IMPORTANT.

When finished remove the original HDD and hook up the new one as master.
After you have verified everything is working you can then add the old drive as slave; format it and use it for additional storage...
