Program to list all programs on a computer

What l want to do is to have a friend send me a complete list of programs running on their computer. I seem to recall that when browsing through the Viruses and Spyware forum that someone asked a person to run a program and post the results which seemed to be a list of everything running on their computer. Maybe wrong, just can't remember that specific post.
Any ideas as to a program that will do this?

Running, or installed?
If installed...

Download HijackThis:
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download
by clicking on Download HijackThis Installer
Install, and run it.

Click Config... button.
Click Misc Tools button.
Click Open Uninstall Manager... button.
Click Save list... button.
Click Save.
The list will be saved as uninstall_list.txt in C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis folder.
At the same time, Notepad will open with the list displayed.

Something tells me it wasn't that program BUT HEY,  l've just tried it and it seems to do the trick.
