    i have installed windows  7 in c drive ,where the xp was was installed earlier, after that  there is a folder created with  the name windows.old i try to delete the folder completly but there is some folders in it which is not deleting .folders are empty but its not going .

      I would guess that it's the WINDOWS folder from his XP installation, which is probably taking a chunk of his hard drive space.

      The windows old folder can be a substantial size as it contains all the old info from an in place upgrade...
      Have you tried deleting it in safemode ? ?
