Here is my list of mmorpg games and fps:
mmorpg's:
World of Warcraft (offers a free starter acct with level 20 cap, but you can play as much as as long as you want for free, just with many limitations. If you buy it and all expansions and pay monthly fee of $15 you can do all and get to level 90 )
AION ( offers free play with no free play level cap like WoW's free play, with their money made in selling NCOINS for NCSOFT a Korean Game Developer )
Lord of the Rings Online ( Free to play, however to enjoy the game you would have to spend real money for items and abilities such as mounts etc ) * I no longer play this game, but many people played it!
Star Wars the Old Republic aka SWTOR ( Played it on a weekend in which they offered free play. Didnt enjoy it much, uninstalled it from my computer because it was not very user friendly to figure out the gameplay of where to go and what to do, but many people play this! ) * I figured if I couldnt enjoy the game at the get go, it wasnt worth trying to figure it out.
Allods - (Free to play through gPotato.com, an ok game for free, special effects are pretty good, but the world is lacking from other games like WoW and Aion. )
Perfect World - ( I didnt care for this game, however many others like it. )
Gates of Andaron - ( Free to play, pretty easy to figure out, but very linear gameplay to level, lots of grinding. Haven't played since 2010, maybe it has gotten better. )
Rappelz - ( Free to play through gPotato.com, I tried this out for a week back around 2009 and the controls of characters were very poor and some bugs were noticed in gameplay. Maybe the game got better, but i havent checked it out since 2009. )
First Person Shooters:
Counter Strike Multiplayer - Its fun to play as long as someone isnt hacking the game to avoid headshots or walking above you in the sky sniping you from invisible surfaces that dont exist in the normal game. I stopped playing this because the hack/cheats to this game are so rampant. There is no fun in constantly getting headshotted by a cheater!!!
Team Fortress 2 - Lots of fun, and can play through steam client with other people online.
Unreal Tournament 99 Multiplayer - Very Fun Gameplay to my likings. Bought a 2nd copy of game for just $10 for lan party play and have 1 license on my server and the other on my gaming system. Game is older and so even a lower end modern computer can run it without breaking a sweat on Windows 7 or older OS. I havent tested it with Windows 8 since I dont own 8 yet. Hours of fun practicing on Bots single player or lan party friends in it + bots to fight. Game was go good that I created a server of this game about 7 years ago with the "Massive Bedrooms" map, which makes you feel like you are in Toy Story the size of Army Men and can hide inside lego houses and behind matchbox cars etc and kill each other over and over again until the kill count reached 30 and the person with 30 kills wins.
Alien Arena ( FREE to download and play. Very similar to UT99, but the bots act as if they are cheating being able to see through walls etc, and you are all aliens running around killing each other in deathmatches, and it remonds me of the aliens from the comedy sci-fi "Mars Attacks!" ) * Not as fun to play as UT99, but free. Those who are playing MMO in this game are very good at it and expect to die a lot before you get good at it. * My complaint in this game is that if I hide in a corner waiting for a bot to enter a room the minute the bot enters the room it is in your face shooting. It wont ever just walk on in and walk by you to shoot it in the back! UT99 would allow for you to hide and shoot a bot in the back if they walk in etc.
Facebook Variety:
Facebook has tons of free games that are MMO, however many of them are nothing you can play to the end without being pressured to either spend money or beg your friends to join your gameplay so that you can progress further. I use to play Castle Age and found out after playing it for 2 weeks that in order to get further I needed more people in my army, so I needed more people on my team, even if they are not even playing the game to unlock portions of the game. * I had like 6 friends playing it and then decided to cheat my way to unlocking stuff by creating fake facebook accounts with fake free to make as many as you want yahoo mail accounts, so i made like 13 fake people who dont exist facebook accounts and e-mail accounts registered to the facebook accounts and invited my fake players to unlock the game further. Then I got bored with the same old grind and quit this game as well as the only gave I will play on occasion from the many on Facebook is Texas Holdem Poker against other people for fake money. Other than that all the other games are designed to try to get you to spend real money or get you to share all your friends with the game to progress further and at the cost that all of your friends as well as yourself get trolled on your wall with ads.
