I have a Dell Desktop with windows XP that is maybe 4 years old.
Recently I switched from using Verizon broadband to Cox.
I also used aol on there...but not for a long time and thought it was deleted.
The computer has run fine...until today.
I went to sign on today and it has been extremely slow, the computer seems broken, and I keep getting prompted with this message:
"AOL Software.exe-corrupt file
The filed or device C:\Program Files\Common File\AOL\115195914\ee\metrics\cmls_ms.tlv is corrupt and unreadable.
Please run the chkdsk utility."
So I go to my computer>>>>>hard drive>>>properties>>>scan for errors>>>and it can not complete the scan.
This popped out with no warning...I have no clue what this prompt is and why it came up...I don't use AOL.
Any ideas or do I have to call a repair person?
Thanks.
