Writing an instructional article, but not sure for what
    « on: August 11, 2009, 06:03:17 PM »
    Hi there,

I've been trying to think how to word this post for several days (before I actually registered), but can't see to find adequate words to describe what I'm looking for.

Basically, I need to write an instructional computer article on some sort of software (freeware preferably).

I have written several other articles, which I won't post here from fear of banning, but does anyone have any suggestions on an article I could write instructing people how to do something with certain software? I'm thinking of a topic that you would see in a traditional magazine type publication, like Maximum PC, PC World, PC Magazine, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I realize this post has come off rather strange, but I'm not sure how else to explain what I'm looking for.

How about comparing 2 freeware programs?

Write an informative article on the dangers and consequences of running multiple antivirus programs.

      or

Write an informative article on the perils of depending on a single mainstream antivirus program (Norton,McAfee) and how antispyware software must accompany an antivirus program for optimum protection.

Is this needed for a school assignment?

In stead of asking for suggestions here and probably getting a bunch of responses suggesting topics you might not know that well why not just pick a subject you are really familiar with and write about it?

Write an article on the blessings of small Free apps compared to their overpriced bloated competitors...

write an article about why you can't pass a reference to a derived class to a function that takes a reference to a base class by reference.

      or even better, don't.  ;D

Are you stating that you have no class?   ;D

Actually, I think Patio has a good idea in comparing applications.
