    Event Viewer
    « on: August 21, 2009, 02:57:33 PM »
I hope this is the right question.
When I open Event Viewer. Open Application, I receive many error reports.
Under the column it says error. Under the event column the reason given is 1041.
When I double click error a box comes up. It gives the date, time etc.
Under Event column it gives a error as 1041.
When I double click the error a box will come open. This is what it says:
Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.
There are over 35 error just today.
I have taken my computer to the shop ( suppose to be the best in town) and they can not find anything wrong.
Around the same time my Media Player will start playing a DVD and all of a sudden it will lock the computer up. The only way to get back on is to turn the computer off and then back on. Can't use Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Will not work.
I am using XP Pro. and I.E. 7
    Thank you

I am not having any issues. The only concern I have is the amount of errors I am seeing under event viewer application.
Should I be concerned with the errors? If, so, I can I fix the problem.
      Thank You

Warnnings aren't much of an issue, like ADG said.

The errors should be fixed though.

No these are listed under Event Viewer Application. The are errors.
Yesterday there was 54 errors all in what I stated in my problem.
        Today, there are 39 errors.
Should I be concerned? If so, How can I fix the errors as listed.
        Thank You

In that case, stop looking at Event Viewer.
I had a friend, who kept doing this, and he ended up at psychiatric ward ;D

Yes, that I can understand. But with all these errors( 54 for just today) listed everyday. Is this a problem with my operating system?
I would like to have a good operating system.
          Thanks

          Let's see what they say...

Please download VEW and save it to your Desktop: http://images.malwareremoval.com/vino/VEW.exe

Double-click VEW.exe then under Select log to query, select:
          Application
          System

Under Select type to list, select:
          Critical (Vista only)
          Error

Click the radio button for Number of events
Type 20 in the 1 to 20 box
          Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.

In Notepad, click Edit > Select all then Edit > Copy
Reply to this post, click in the reply window and press Ctrl+V on your keyboard to paste the log.

            Here is what I got.
I hope this will help me understand my system
What does concern me is that when the error says it can not query a Dll name.
This is the first time I have seen this one. Can I fix it or it does not matter.

The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block.
I had to install a new DVD Rom on my system and a new floppy drive.

I just found out about the CD Rom error. A friend of mine gave me a cd with pictures on it. I had a hard time trying to get it started. I finally cleaned the CD and bingo it started.
This might have been the problem with the CD Rom.
              Again thanks for your help.

              That's it.
As for 1st type of errors, they all come from some leftovers from IE8 beta installation.
Have you ever had it installed, and what happened to it?

Yes, I did start to download IE8 by accident. I cancel the download.
So is there a way to get rid of partial download. Would this stop the errors.
                Thanks
