    Is this Compatible?

    My friend give me a processor "AMD Athlon (Socket AM2) 2.6 GHz
    and i want to change my AMD Sempron 2200+1.49GHz will this be compatible?
    I mean do my mobo support that socket type?

      The answer is no, the Sempron you have is a socket A processor, the one you asked about is an AM2 socket .

        Most of the time, you can simply Google your motherboard model number and you will come across tons of website which have that information. Simply look under ''specifications'' or ''properties'' or something like this, and you should find what kind of sockets are supported by your motherboard.
