    disappearing IE toolbar
    « on: August 20, 2009, 07:00:50 PM »
When I log onto IE the toolbar appears but immediately scrolls upward and off the screen.  It can be brought back by moving the cursor to the top of the screen.  There is no problem being connected to the Internet, but this disappearing toolbar is a hassle.  Also, the toolbar sometimes shows a string of green tabs for various Favorite websites (the first items in my Favorites listing) which it never did before this problem developed.  In other respects IE seems to be OK.

I use Windows Vista with IE 8.0.  This problem was created by the good people at Earthlink tech support who were trying to help me speed up a slow connection.  They got the speed problem solved but they had me delete many files in the process.  Apparently, these deletions damaged IE in some way.  If this problem cannot be corrected easily, what should I do?  I do not have a program or backup disk for IE.  Would I have to purchase it, and if so, could I install it over the existing program?

Try F11, see if your toolbar stays on top.
