the point at which ether one fails is real high for the most part.   ;)  when you realize that you'll understand.
Windows 7 RC Tester.  Working on it.  Your monitor says etchasketch on the side!

No its not the front ports, they're running fine, they recognize my older USB drive just fine.

And I noticed something about the indicator light on the Sandisk:
Front Ports: Solid Red Light, then off
Back Ports: Usual Orange Light, then Blinking or Fading(depending upon if Idle or data Transfer)

I assume Red is some kind of error, but if it works on the back ports, fine.

But, clearly, there's something going on here that causes your U3 drive to not work right on the front ports.
      front ports suck
they just never work quite right
I don't agree with that as a general statement but I believe, at least on some systems, front ports are more problematic than back ports.  The only thing I can think of that might be a cause is that they connect to the motherboard in different ways.  The rear ports are normally directly embedded on the motherboard while the front ports are wired to pins on the motherboard.

This sounds like nonsense.  Care to elaborate on "how you connect it."?

Get a USB extension cable.  Plug it into a USB port on back of your computer and run the cable out to the front of your computer.
