Computer boots with about every 10-12 power-ups...

Please help me!

Hi, I'm very new here and I'm seeking help.  My Toshiba Satellite is ancient, but it was working fine until I tried to open-up a MicroWord document.  Next thing, the desktop + mouse + cursor started to freeze  a couple of minutes after usage.

Now, when I try to power-it-on, IT TAKES 10-12 TIMES/TRIES [MAYBE MORE], for it to boot-up + I hear the FAN, but nothing on the screen. I ran Smitfraud Fix twice before this  At 1st, it was only 5-7 tries.  SmitfraudFix gave a note with this error (something like this): C:\DOCUME~1\LOCALS~1\TEMP (?)

It was something like that w/extension: .tmp

Is this fixible and am I in the correct section of the forum?

Thank you,

Petros

Backup your important information the next time it boots.
