    SOUND
    « on: August 24, 2009, 06:50:31 PM »
    Good morning all.
I am having a sound problem and I have been trying to include a printscreen to clarify the situation however, this message email appears to only accept the print and not the picture. What am I doing wrong please?
The basic problem is everything works, all the obvious steps have been taken, but  the sound is too low, music too soft, speech too feint just loud enough to be annoying.
Speakers have been removed and checked elsewhere, all ok.
    Thank you  :)
    Regards

When you post a reply click on Additional options and attach your file.

        Dear Karnac
On receipt of your reply I again sent my text email, which included
PrintScreen photos. I did this through additional options and attching a file.
It is now several hours later and has not appeared on the board, and I
cannot find a record of it having  been sent .
Do you have any suggestions you could help me with please?
TEXT SENT "My sound is a problem.
It plays very quietly in the background just enough to be annoying and
voices are unintelligible. Lately I have received a number of tutorial and various other videos, but anything that is video or audio, I can’t hear.

I am sending you the information below so that you can see my settings.

I have had my sound speakers checked, they are ok.

I have plugged the speakers into the front, and back of the PC but the sound does not increase, it is the same when I play a CD. And yet when I plug my small ear plugs from my digital voice recorder into the back plug and front plug, I am blasted out of the chair for both CD, and audio, and video received from a 3rd party.
The PC and my speakers are talking to each other but they are so quiet and fuzzy, to try to listen to they are virtually useless.

          cul1649,

First check device manager and see if there are any problems showing up....you might try to carefully withdraw the speaker plug and finesse it in the port...sometimes when the plug is fully inserted the connection is not as good as when the plug is slightly out of the port...we're talking mm here.....on board sound or sound card?...... do you have the latest drivers?....post your pc's specs as well....

Do you have a speaker icon in the lower right task bar? If so right click it. It should open to the volume control window. Check the levels shown. Adjust as necessary.

As Karnac mentioned, you may have  a driver issue that will be indicated in the device manager window. However since you said you can hear audio but very low, it sounds to me like a volume setting issue.

Also try taking the input cable TO the speaker out and after licking a finger, touch the tip of the connector. Do you heat a buzz that gets louder the harder you push on the connector? If not, there may be an issue with the speaker/amp.
