Using windows password recovery CD for XP problem?
    « on: August 27, 2009, 10:08:50 AM »

I recently bought a windows password recovery CD for XP, I have a gateway pc and i have forgot my password to my user name, The CD sais simply pop it in and turn on your pc and it will find your password after searching for it, but it either wont read the disc or wont boot from it &still goes to the log in page, i even set it to boot from cd but it still goes to the log in page...

I don't know if this would make a difference but my dad about 8 years ago did have the hard-drive and cd drive upgraded, would that be why?

Please help, I've tried literally everything to get back into my PC

Where did you buy this password recovery CD and what's on it ? ?
How do you forget a password on your own machine ? ?

Most work, but the ones that charge alot usually try and do it the safe way instead of forcing itself through. When they force through there are usually files you have to reinstall afterwards.
