Thanks to you Transfusion for your post!!! I agree with you -
"It is really terrible that people slip into depression and sometimes just collapse under the weight of their burden-no human deserves to be subjected to such unspeakable conditions in life."
I partially understand. I've been 'almost' there.
And, although I've seen and experienced some bad things in life, I also have been blessed with plenty of "furtunate surroundings".
Throughout my life I've always said, (and especially in current times with internet), "If you think your having a bad day - 'pay attention' - because you can always find someone who is having a much worse day." If anyone needs an example you can visit St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis TN which specializes in the treatment of childhood cancer treatment and research. I've been there and walked away with an enormous gratitude for all the blessings I've had throughout my life.
I liked the comment by Alex Debogorski that I heard when watching 'Ice Road Truckers' last week on the History Channel. It went something to the effect of:
'Everybody ought to buy a casket and set it beside their front door so every morning, on the way out, they can get a little more appreciation for the day'.
Life is life. Gratitude and fellowship is great - loneliness is horrible.
I feel for the ones who cannot muster the courage to pay attention and have a mustard size grain of hope for tommorrow!
And; Transfusion, (and everybody else), maybe someday we will cross paths, but if not, until then, I'll try to keep an eye out for a fellow human I may can help.
And zonatedace, great idea for and 'off topic' thread.
I'll add one I like to the list:
