Slow Computer ( mostly when playing games online)

well i have been trying to fix this issue for a long time.  my computer is somewhat slow without using the internet. but when it comes to using the internet, everything is pretty good speed. just when trying to play games on the internet browser, or when playing games on the desktop which require an internet connection lagg soo much that it kicks me out the game, or it freezes. my download speed for internet connection is 12000 kbps and upload speed is 932 kbps... my memory for the computer is 20gig being used and 68 gig free. i have no spyware or virus on my computer. my graphic card is geforce 7300 GS. and i have the latest version of pretty much everything that is required by the games. and i dont know why its still slow. help?

as soon as i try to play the game i want to play, my cpu boosts to 100% but before i open the game it stables at 4-10. and the game works on java.

how much ram and how old is this computer
also have you defragmented this year?

this computer is a few years old. and yes i have defragmented like 5 minutes ago

I don't see any immediate security threat, but you're nor running any AV program, so there is a good chance, something may be there.
