How is MS adding spyware? SAS or any other number of programmes would be alerted. Sounds like scare mongering to me.

its spyware because it doesnt ask if you want it to install it

And you think that MS does not need to check your system when updating. Ok so error report must be spyware as well.
Better still if it really bothers you then stop using Windows.. simple.

but the update is installed in the background with the user knowing almost nothing
then retreaving information
microsoft has no right to do that

It would be the same as borrowing an XP CD to do a repair/clean install...
This is perfectly legal and well within your rights under the EULA...

Actually you may want to contact MS about the original CD...they have a replacement program for certain situations.
I still have the copied CD somewhere, so if it's legal for ME to use it then I'll keep it in case I need to use it again.

And how is this information used? Maliciously? I think not. Your just scare mongering which is worse than the act you describe.

Lets see if you set your computer to notify you when updates are available and let you decid if you want to install you can prevent all of this.

I have yet to have a Microsoft update install on my PC with out me knowing it but if I set my PC to automatically download and install updates then it is "Shame on me" if the system sends out my information not "Shame on Microsoft" for getting the info. I blindly let my system update so I have no right to complain over what the updates do.

User License Agreements are in place to let you know what the company can do and also whatt your rights are so you might want to start caring about them.

Actually MS own Windows hence the licence agreement. They licence it to you they don't sell the programme.

Well he has no use for the EULA agreements....probably why he doesn't know this either.
