    « on: September 03, 2009, 12:33:44 PM »
Would you please tell me what the included warning is trying to tell me. What should i be doing to prevent this occurrence? It is happening more often than not when i open a web browser of my home page.Usually when it happens all i get of the home page is the top banner and it does not complete the load.O/S XP-Pro Sp2. Please do not include as a solution to change to or use another browser.thank you, truenorth

I'm not going to open unknown doc file, but I suggest:
    1. Upgrade to IE7. IE6 is very outdated and unsafe browser.
    2. Reinstall Flash. Use this to uninstall Flash: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

When did word documents become a "safe" format?

OK guys now that we have all had our fun with the "file format" what is the concensus around Broni's suggestion? Perhaps now that Broni has actually seen the attachment he too may want to readdress his own suggestion. The reason i have not moved up to a higher version of IE is due to issues with ver 7 and i know ver 8 is now available. I went back to 6 as i had not previously had any issues with it (if it ain't broke don't fix it). I do see possible merit in the in the "flash" suggestion as from my observation this only started happening after i upgraded to ver 9. I shall await the sage's views now that all have had a gander at it. thanks all, truenorth

I'd follow the messages advice, and change the settings to allow it, especially as it is your homepage (and I assume thus unlikely to be a malicious script).

BC, Thanks for the advice. I must tell you however that numerous attempts at doing exactly that (clicking on settings) has never brought up anything other than occasionally a little small size icon (about the size of the cursor) with one of those circles with a red diagonal line through it. So as much as i would like to access these "settings" it offers i cannot.truenorth

pagead2.googlesyndication.com is the url of google's advertisement service. And most of the web pages have files linked from pagead2.googlesyndication.com. If this is causing u problems, you can disable loading elements from pagead2.googlesyndication.com.
        Go to c:\ >> windows >> system32 >> drivers >> etc
and open the file named 'hosts'. You can open it with notepad (just open notepad and drag & drop the file into it). There add a new line to the end of the file.
"127.0.0.0 pagead2.googlesyndication.com" - add this line, without the quotes. Once u complete this, nothing from pagead2.googlesyndication.com will be loaded. This may solve your problem
