    Networking help!
    « on: September 01, 2009, 03:18:58 PM »
At my work I have a nice setup that protects us from outside sites that contain harmful information. However it also blocks alot of needed sites. I noticed that our router has two break offs, one if for out internet which is sent through switches and one is to the email server, which of course provides our internet.

Is there any way to run my internet through the mail server and not the switch?

Thanks in advance for any help

No not really. The mail server is mostly  a intranet server. Meaning it only works with a few ports, I know this is a very simplistic answer follow this links http://www.canadaemails.com/the_e-mail_ports.htm
BTW this are standards port irregardless of what country u live in.
Where as the internet browser works on port 80 http this allows u to surf the internet.
