    Hi all,

    Sound Card: Integrated
    Modem: 56K
    Ethernet: 10/100
    USB Ports: 6 USB
    O/S Installed: None
    O/S License
Hard Drive Capacity: 500 GB Items Included:
    desktop pc
    o/s license

     Items NOT Included:
    keyboard
    mouse
    power cord
    o/s installed
    restore partition
    restore discs
    manual
    speakers
    original box

This is part of the discription on alot of the ebay sales... Where it says "Not Included" I see o/s installed and restore partition. These computers have been wiped by DOD standards. Given this info, will I be able to load windows off my disk? Thanks again,bb

Do you mean will you be able to install Windows from your existing Windows CD? Yes, of course. Not sure why you might think otherwise.

Because in my bright wisdom, I once wiped all partitions off a laptop, I had. This removed all drivers in the process, which meant the disc drive was unable to load the xp disc back to my pc...lol Been very careful of anything that says anything about restore partitions being removed...lol

That is, IMO, not good advice.
      Here us what may help.
A retail version of Windows XP has to be registered on line with MS. Now if it has already been registered with another motherboard you will get a message to the effect that you can not register automatically. You have to call the support number and explain what your are doing. The support person may speak eastern English.

Geek- that's not entirely accurate. you could change the motherboard three times before it stopped activating.

Besides, what are you suggesting? they buy a new copy just to avoid possibly talking to somebody with an accent?
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

No, I would not suggest that.

Ask Microsoft if that is what they expect.
