Does the motherboard have on-board video?
If so, which video is your monitor plugged into?
The BIOS will have a choice of which video to use.

So, is your computer booting at all?  or are you just not receiving any output on your monitor?  If your computer is not coming on at all, you'll need to recheck everything you installed to make sure it's properly seated.  You'll also need to make sure you attached the power and reset wires properly to your motherboard according to the manual.

If you need additional help, you can reach me at ResourcePC.

Even though you may think you connect everything properly, but you may need to dismantle everything and build it all over again.

It's not onboard, its a Nvidia e-GeForce MX 4000 64mb AGP  PLUS how can i do that when it can't access the bios because the monitor is not getting a signal, it will work on my other computer.

The computer comes on when you use the switch in the back. The power and reset switch do not work, i thought i correctly hooked them up but maybe not.. Can someone help with the power and reset switch??? its a PC CHIPS M916......

Custom_Builder......  Read the manual very carefully and then read it again.

      Re ...the case connections ....
If there is a cooling fan installed in the system chassis, connect the cable from the cooling fan to the SYSFAN1 fan power connector on the mainboard.

Connect the case switches and indicator LEDs to the SW1 connector.
Here is a list of the SW1 pin assignments.

      Pin Signal
      1    HD_LED_P
      2    FP PWR/SLP
      3    HD_LED_N
      4    FP PWR/SLP
      5    RESET_SW_N
      6    POWER_SW_P
      7    RESET_SW_P
      8    POWER_SW_N
      9    RSVD_DNU
      10  KEY

Re lack of beep at startup ......Do you have the case speaker connected to the proper pins ........refer to your manual .

Yea, I have read that. It also stumps me that the computer comes on right when you plug it up.... without even pressing the power button. I have the speaker in the correct place. I put it in the SPK1 Slot...... Plus there a jumper JP3... it says that it will clear the cmos should i do that???

You could have a faulty switch, have you tried it with the switches disconnected?

Custom_Builder......Have you tried disconnecting the wiring from the front panel as Fed suggested .....This will indicate if the issue is with the front panel wiring or on the mobo.........

Have you checked the actual on /off switch ( or button ) with a meter to see if its stuck in the on position?
It might be a good idea to have someone else check your front panel wiring to the mobo .............it only takes one incorrect connection to cause the problem .......
Another thing ..........note that the front panel wiring is polarity sensitive ....( the polarity must be as specified )

Custom_Builder......when its plugged in and running ....if you push in the reset button and hold it in ....does the machine shut down ?

If you have a good look at the underside of the SW1 socket ....are there any little bits of solder or anything else which might be completing the circuit ?

Custom_Builder.....  Ok , then I would be considering returning the mobo and trying another one ....it sounds like the problem is with the board .   Have you double checked to see that there are no jumpers installed that are not shown on your manual .........( according to the manual there may be others ....used for testing which are not shown on the manual )  .....I just mention this as anythings possible .......

Custom_Builder...... When the machine is powered up , were the case fan (s) running as well as the cpu cooling fan running........were the LED s on the front panel indicating power on and hard drive activity ?
Just attempting to rule out other possibilities .

just one thing before you do.... check case wiring from the psu to mobo  properly check it out  have alook at the manual //floppy disk that came with the mobo.....have altered any or the dipswitches....the little red things on the board.....you may find  the graphics card port is not getting any power......wiring..if it powers up and there is no burning smells from it.....it maybe ok ....some call those boards fish and chips.....because of the burning smells...from them???i know they are cheap.......but  it worth it....after time spend///cash/hassle//i would suggest if you can afford it buy a decent mobo.......imhao.....
