Opening external hard drives in cmd.
« on: September 12, 2009, 11:22:18 AM »
Hi. While attempting to get rid of a virus, I think I accidentally deleted necessary files. Now I can only run my XP in safemode with command prompt. when I did copy, It only copied the files, and not the directories in my music directory. I have lots of subdirectories of all the artists in my music folder, and it would take forever to do them one at a time (only ...music\song.mp3 copied, when I need ...music\artist\song.mp3). How do you copy the directories and all their files? Sorry if I don't make much sense, I'm new to using command prompt. Thanks!

I really don't follow your post too well, but why not just do a repair install of XP?
