Narrow screen....HELP!!!!

I have a problem...when I turn on the computer the screen narrows and the sides come in about 1 1/2".....is this a problem with my windows or do we need a new screen?
HELP!!!!

    Deana Brosius.....Have you tried using the monitor screen adjusting controls to fix ?

    Did this just suddenly happen or has it been a gradual thing ?

      You resolution settings can do this too with settings like 800x600vs960x600.
      Right click on your desktop & go to properies>settings and make sure all is well there.
