I dont know I dont have any installed, but heres the thing, I know I am connected to the internet, cause windows and other programs do their updates successfully.  So Im thinking something may be w rong with the IE files thats causing the browser not t o launch, what do you think?

Also, when I went into safe mode, the computer started cycling and giving me the dialog box every so often 'windows is running in safe mode ....' which you normally see.  When I click ok on the box, it goes away, then comes back after 10 seconds.  This keeps  going on again and again, and Im unable to keep any application open, like windows explorer, cause as soon as the two minutes is up, the application is closed, and the screen flashes off and on, and up comes  the box again.

So what do you think, whats going on

      1) Try another browser
      2) Run full system scans with BOTH your anti virus utility AND either MalwareBytes or Super AntiSpyware

Your browser might be running but not opening the browser window, try going into task manager > processes > and end the process iexplore.exe. Then open up your browser.

no it is a problem with IE .  I got google chrome installed and that open up fine, and I can browse different web pages, but ... only for bout 10 seconds.  Then chrome starts saying it cant open up the pages.  I could install firefox but Im kinda sure the same thing is going to happen

What is going on.  Is there a way to fix the internet connectivity or is it the browswers?  I ran mbam, and avira and removed whatever viruses it found.

        what do i do now

You just answered your own question - your system has been infected and I'm guessing you didn't get everything. I'd suggest submitting a HiJack This Log in the malware support section of this forum.

I also get this popup every so often detected by my antivirus (I use avira) that says unwanted file (C:\windows\system32.hid32.dll)  Contains signature of dr/trcur.B.2  trojan

I tried regsvr32 to remove it, says Access denied.  I cant just delete it either, and it doesnt appear as a process in the task manager.  So how do I remove that

That is one of the first things I checked.  There is no ieexplore.exe process  listed in task manager.
