      Have you tried another CD/DVD unit ? ?
      According to that info the BIOS is not detecting it at all...

      Also if you do get it running you may consider some RAM...256 is a minimum for XP to run properly...

        well, I did try putting the cd in the dvd rw but no luck.  I wanted to open the computer but am having no luck.  I push the tabs -one side releases but not the other.  wanted to see if I could reset the bios rocker switch. I'm just grasping at straws at this point.  Figure I have nothing to loose.
