    My computer shut down itself (in less than 1 min)

    When i switch on the pc, it enter the windows then shut down by itself (in less then 1 min)
    I have to keep trying then the pc will works normally.
    Using windows xp sp3. Can anyone help me?

    Does the same thing happen if you boot to safe mode?

        The pc is only 6 mth old...n the inside is quite clean?

        I'm going to ask again. Have you booted to safe mode and if so do you have the same problem? I have a feeling you really have not tried.

          I have try booting in safe mode lots of time....but before i get into the windows it will restart itself again...
          If i boot in normal mode...it can at least got to the password screen.
          I have also found some crack at the processor cooler

          This is most likely the issue...
          If the CPU is not damaged you can buy a replacement heatsink/fan combo...

          Does it just immediately cut off? Or does it say Windows is Shutting Down etc?

            the power shut down....but i have change the power supply....
            at first was the pc cnt turn on...after some checks found out that the harddisk did not run but the cd drive can run...den i change the power supply....everytink was ok but it will turn off by itself after 1 min....but after lots of reboot i works normally

            That is the problem. You need a new heatsink. Hopefully your CPU is still okay.

              If you continue to use that machine with a bad/cracked heatsink you run the risk of burning up that CPU and possibly the MBoard.

              Maybe it's a heat sencor try putting a fan right next to it with the cover off and see if it stays on longer if so it might be the heat sencor.
