Where is this IP coming from?
    « on: October 01, 2009, 09:33:18 AM »
I have over 600 devices in my facility whether it be PC's, Printers, Jetdirect, or vender related. Anyway, Since I can't find the physical location of this  certain IP address, I was wondering how I can at least find what switch and port it's on by its IP.

Your system must have a central Router  or Server somewhere. You go into that device and find who is in charge of: DHCP . And there should be a list of everything.
Most likely you have a Domain Server.

Hello use the nbtstat with a switch command. Follow the link provided for more information. It will not give the exact pin point location, but it will get u real close.
