    emule doesn't work
    « on: October 03, 2009, 06:49:24 PM »
    Hi,

I have Avast! Anti-virus and windows XP. For some reason my emule software doesn't work.
I tried the emules FAQ and opened the TCP and UDP ports as instructed (at least I think I did it correctly) but it still doesn't work.

Any step-by-step instruction I can follow to check/resolve?

    Thanks,
    Vampirecharm.

I'm not trying to be rude but this is the dumbest thing you can do with p2p software. You need to lock everything down as tight as you can, not open it up. You're opening up your computer for all sorts of attacks, stealing of your personal information and software keys. Windows included. Did you download it from emule.com? See here. http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/emule.com The real website is http://www.emule-project.net/

Best advice, get better p2p software. One that installs and works without opening new ports.
