Howdy.  Can anyone help me with:  How can I access my OE6 (particularly my incoming emails) from another person's system if I am away from home.  Is this even possible?

Please keep any any advise very simple as I'm still a beginner in some areas.

Simply create a new account on another machine and remove it when you leave.

You said in some areas.

Creating a new account is basic knowledge. I will attempt to guide you through Outlook Express 2003 as Outlook Express would be the most likely program you come across whilst not using your own computer.

Most E-mail clients have an account wizard. The information you need to fill out can be obtained from your E-mail client.

The steps may very per E-mail client used. Your E-mail will most likely be able to provide you with exact steps for the E-mail/news reader client you are operating.

Outlook Express 2003:

1. Open Outlook Express 2003
2. Go to the tools menu
3. Click on E-mail accounts
4. Select Add a new E-mail client and click next.
5. Select the correct protocol.
-- Often POP3
6. Fill out your user name, password and other relevant information.
7. Go to the Outgoing Server tab. Fill out your SMTP adress.
--This adress can be obtained from the E-mail provider you are using.
8. Go to the Advanced tab. This is additional, but may be required to be configured by your E-mail provider.

gerette......I would check with your ISP .....they probably offer web mail......   Then all you do is use any pc or laptop anywhere in the world .........go to your ISP's website and sign into webmail.....you will then have access to any mail which is in your mailbox.......and hasnt been delivered yet ...... You can open it reply to it ....etc...and a copy is left on your mail server untill your return to your own pc and receive it ..........I use this feature all the time when travelling and its great ..

    Cheers

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

put in www.mail2web.com - type in your username and password   [email protected] or whatever.  I access outlook express all across the country this way.
