Windows defender
« on: October 12, 2009, 07:54:52 PM »
I keep getting these messages that windows is blocking some startup programs. It seems to be from windows defender which I have no idea how it got there because this just started. I have tried everything I know to get rid of these messages but it just keeps coming back. How do I get rid of it?

HP Pavilion  a6110n
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400

You can just disable Defender from starting with the system and then go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services and set Windows Defender Service to "Disabled".

I am still having the same problem after doing what you suggested. When ever I reboot it's back just as healthy as can be. I noticed it was even disabling the Comodo software that I use as a firewall.
I am assuming that since it's a Windows program I must have installed it from Microsoft's updates. I just want to get rid of it as it is too intrusive.

Then you did not send Windows Defender Service to DISABLED

I told you in my first post above.

You can just disable Defender from starting with the system and then go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services and set Windows Defender Service to "Disabled".
