    Losing passwords.
    « on: October 15, 2009, 06:18:41 AM »
It seems that when I run CCleaner, all the forums etc, on which I have preset passwords to open automatically, have had the username and passwords removed and I have to reset them using the Username and Password again.
Has happened twice since I started using Ccleaner again.
    Any clues please?
Vista Home Premium, 2. processor, 2 gig RAM, SP2
    Thanks.

You have to set it to delete or not delete items of your choosing. If you do not want cookies deleted, don't delete them.

Just to clarify cCleaner will delete all history from your computer including usernames and passwords. I use Norton anti-virus which remembers all my passwords and usernames so they get automatically re-issued when I join a site.
Mozilla Firefox now has a similar option.
Stating don't delete cookies is a little wrong to be fair.
Make a choice you can write all your user names and passwords down or Firefox and/or Norton or some other programme will remember them under a master password.
I have so many passwords that I could not hope to remember so I find this way so much easier. Hope that helps  ;)

You missed the whole point...CCleaner can be set to selectively save cookies/passwords that are needed/wanted.
Therefore it will NOT get rid of the ones you wish to keep...
You just have to tell it which ones...
