    How to upgrade from Windows Me to Windows XP

     Can anyone tell me how to upgrade from Windows ME to Windows XP.

    Put the XP CD in the CD drive and reboot.

    The Windows ME CD you give e to ...
    your second cousin, if he lives in Nebraska.

        This is my problem.I just reformatted my Hp desktop that has Windows ME, and I download the Malware Bytes program to desktop,but when I went back to desktop and opened it and clicked on run,Message came up "This program requires Windows NT version 4.0 or later".Will I have to upgrade to Windows Xp in order for this program to open,or what do I do?Also do you know where I can download Free Windows XP home edition and burn on a CD?

        If you are still running ME you will need protection apps that will run on WinME...

        There is no legal DLoad of any retail Windows products and we don't assist with piracy here.

          Well sorry I ask,but I've already found several dowloads for the Windows XP Home Edition dowload that is legal,and what do you mean by Protection apps for Windows Me/Please explain

            Hello, may I offer a practical solution.
            If you bought a retail PC with Windows ME., then now is a good time to just replace it all together.
            You can buy a brand-new computer now at a fraction of what you paid for your original machine. You will get a new operating system, maybe a Vista or Windows 7. And the cost is only a little more than what you would pay for a legal copy of windows XP and maybe a new piece of hardware like a video card.

            Or, if you're on a tight budget, by re furbish XP desktop computer for less than what you would pay for legal copy of windows XP. And you'll have a computer that out performs your old windows ME clunk that you bought several years ago.

              Just to let you know Patio that I don't deal in illegal activities and I'm certinally not a pirate.I just ask a simple question on here,and if you don't have a nice answer,then don't answer at all.Thanks Geek for your help,as you  have been helpful and may I say that you're nice with your answers.Patio should go back to bed and get up again,maybe he wouild be in a better mood. ::) >:(

              Patio is just doing his job - and doing it well, at that.

              And regardless of your claims to the contrary, there is NO legal download of any version of Windows available for free on the web.
