Visited website, worms rootkits and trojans everywhere
    « on: October 20, 2009, 11:02:40 PM »
It seems I'm having a spyware attack. My friend told me to visit a site, turns out it wasn't what he thought it was. Now I'm getting popups and it says worms, rootkits, and trojans have been detected. All my anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-spyware programs were infected and I have no clue what to do right now. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Also, whenever I try to download these anti-virus and anti-malware programs online, it says I can't proceed because I'm not protected.  It seems everything I open has been infected and I don't know how to download these programs without messing up my computer even more.

I did that and when I try to open all the programs off the zip drive, it says on the toolbar that the programs are infected by a worm or keylogger. Is this normal or what?

See if you can do a system restore.

I tried doing it and said it's been shut off by group policy and to contact the Administrator, but I am the adminstrator of the computer. How do I turn it back on?

the same things are happening to both of my laptops...the desktop icons, as well as the desktop wallpaper are gone. Security Tools keep popping up, and any time I try to open browser, safe mode, task manager, it pops up and tells me it's infected.  how do I get rid of this thing?

Start another topic, as to not hijack this one.

What you can also try is to rename the .exe files after you download them, like add a letter or put a 2 on the end or something, just to change it. That has worked for me before when I couldnt run it with its original name.

Why don't you try an online scanner ?. There are lot of antivirus websites that provides this facility. Make use of them.
