Firefox - how to open new window
    « on: October 23, 2009, 06:13:15 AM »
    Hello,
In my previous version of Firefox I had an add-on, which would reproduce the page I am on - in a new window. It would also carry-over the history of the page.

Since I updated to the latest Firefox version, 3.5, I cannot find that add-on, altho I have searched their add-ons.

Do you have any tips? That ability was so useful, I cannot imagine why they would get rid of it.

I found very helpful your tip to hold down shift when clicking on a link, in order to open that link in a new window.

But that does not help with my above need, or if it does, I don't know how to use it.

    Thanks!

I don't think it's an add on. Just right-click on the tab and select "duplicate tab" (Ctrl-Alt-T). However - if you want a GREAT add-on for tab management get Tab Mix Plus

Using Firefox 3.5.3 here and I see no such option.  But, I can right click on a tab and select Open in a New Window, which is what the OP wants to do.

I believe, that option comes with TabMixPlus.

You may be right - it's always the first add-on I use so I don't know what the context menu would look like without it  :-[ . It IS a standard feature in IE 8 context menus though
