    going to sleep

    My computer when turned on will boot up windows xp screen will come up then it it will go to sleep and just keep doing the same thing over and over cannot get desktop or anything!! Any suggestions

      Can you boot into safe mode to adjust the power settings?

        when I try to boot in safe mode it does nothing should I try again

          when I rebot in safe mode i get signal out of ?? set monitor to 1240x thats all I remember

            k after reboting in safe mode I get signal out of range set monitor to 1280x1020

            Shut down completely, unplug from the wall. Remove the old monitor and replace with a monitor that is currrently working.

            Plug back in and reboot
