Anonymous Browsing Problems
« on: October 22, 2009, 08:45:42 AM »
Right, this problem has been causing me some confusion lately, so I thought I'd ask the internet and see what you guys can suggest:

Before I start, I'll just let you know I'm running vista 32bit.

I'm currently in China, and so my browsing is slightly limited by the Great Firewall.  I bought an anonymous web-browsing program that my neighbour suggested, and this worked for some sites blocked sites but not for facebook or youtube. So far, not very interesting.

Now, I connect through the internet through a network normally, but my neighbor has wireless internet and was using his at first, and I still couldn't get to the these website, whilst my number, running the same operating, the same anonymizing program and the same internet connection could. This leads me to believe that it may be something to do with my connection settings: I've tried four different browsers(Firefox, IE, Chrome and even downgraded to Netscape) but no luck.  In additiona to this, I'm encountering some problems playing online games , and again I suspect it has something to do with my connection settings but I don't really know where to begin when it comes to checking to see if they're as they should be. Any ideas?

why not ask your neighbor how he is doing it?

This site will probably be blocked for you, but on the off chance it isn't, there's a lot of good information .

Sites like Facebook and YouTube are blocked because of China's laws.
You are trying to break their laws, or at least I think.
