Half of LCD is missing... HELP!!!
    « on: October 24, 2009, 03:07:18 PM »
I have a gateway laptop model: w340ua and half of the screen is not there, like its covered with white and random colors.. I hook up the laptop to an external display and works great..
So now its either the lcd screen or the LCD inverter..

What does an inverter do? Is it basically to power the lcd up? or provide colors and etc.

If someone can find me a replacement screen that would be very much appreceiated..

Here is a pic i have attached below..

    Thanks..

Now i am in no way an expert on this but that looks like it would be a problem with the LCD screen itself not the inverter because if it was the power supply more than likely the whole thing would go out. You will probably need to get the screen replaced I.E. repaired.
