« on: June 17, 2005, 08:07:52 PM »
Hi

I have read aload of forums that say it is ok to overclock the Barton 2500 AMD, Am i doing somthing wrong here, Because i read, that all i have to do, is change a bios setting on the FSB from 166 Mhz to 200 Mhz, The problem i get when i do this, is the computer stops on the boot screen at (Main processer AMD Athlon(tm)xp3200) I have the msi k7n2 Delta board. im running OS xp Home. the bios is the pheonix award.

Overclocking may damage system components beyond repair and decrease their life span.

Any forum that recommends overclocking is most likely purely dedicated to overclockers or frequently visited by people who's motto is Live life to the fullest and have no idea of what they are actually doing.

Crafty.....Does your board support overclocking ?

Read your mobo manual and if it does ......it will tell you exactly how to do it ...BUT...... be aware of the potential damage that could result .

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.
