UNABLE TO UNINSTALL SONIC UPDATE MANAGER FOR WIN XP

Hello,

When trying to remove Sonic Update Manager thru "Add/Remove Progs", I get the following message:

"There's a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete couldn't be run."

 
PS. I recently removed "Install Shield" from my computer. Can it be the cause ...?

This is not advised, ever.  Try the revouninstaller that was mentioned above.

I removed Install Shield because I never use it and I was trying to get rid of some progs that I don't need...

I just tried to uninstall Sonic Update Manager with Revo Uninstaller. I am getting same message

Are you sold on Sonic software as your burning choice ? ?
Only reason i ask is that it's crap...
DLoad and install CDBurnerXPro as a FREE alternative...Meanwhile remove Sonic....

My Dell laptop was sold with Roxio CD/DVD burner. I also have install CD for that.

If I download "Windows Installer 3.1 ", would it help me to get rid of Sonic Update Manager or...?

I'm not sure, but you have to have Windows Installer on your computer.
