NTLDR issue.
« on: November 09, 2009, 09:34:55 PM »
Yesterday my computer was very slow and was restarting on its own so I decided a clean up was required so I put all I wanted to keep on cds. When I tried formating it it would not boot from cd which I later resolved. I had to go into BIOS and switch the boot priority from floppy to cd rom. I booted it from cd and started the format but at 27% when copying files it said it could not copy a certain file so I tried reinstalling xp. I let it do it's thing again and it shut itself off in mid process of installing xp. I Turned it back on and NTLDR missing showed up and boot from cd no longer shows up anywhere. My guess this is a seriously corrupted Windows but I don't know how to fix this mumbo jumbo. Help would be much appreciated.

May be your os cd was scratched, try another one. no problems came with any files at installation a bad installation would result this issue. May be at that time(27%) that file was not copied...

Using another computer create another copy of your os then install.

Are you using an original, retail XP CD?
