    laptop not booting up

    i know another one here it goes laptop toshiba 4 yrs old wont boot pass safe mode screen in black and white tried starting in every configuration goes blank and then restarts with windows front screen then goes to black and white safe mode screen to choose a starting point it just loops fans come on dvd/cd drive clicks and starts and goes off laptop will soon become boat anchor

      ps the blue screen of death blinks inbetween the black screen and front windows start screen just for split second

      Go the advanced startup menu (F8) and choose disable restarts on system failure. Now you should be able to see the blue screen and post back with the error message.

        First thing you want to do is boot to the Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r
