locked keyboard

my advent laptop keyboard has locked itself. ie. when i press the keys with a box in the top righthand corner, that is what i get, and i cant get a capital. You can tell from this posting what i get but to illistrate better if i press  u ,i get 4 ,and i dont` know how to unlock this function.
please help.

Are you refering to Numlock?

This is sn Advent Laptop. It has no number lock.
The letters  U I O P J K L M .......have addtional functions in the top right hand corner. When the key is pressed this top right function works, and to enable the letter in small case I have to hold down the Fn key.

click keyboard icon......in the control panel.....and check/ change the language setup..............>.[.wineprovider. when i press  u ,i get 4 ]

CRACKED IT............For future reference..........Hold down the function button in conjunction with the PrcScn key and hey presto all is working fine.
